Flying Feathers Hunting Season:

November 1 – Mid March (Monday-Saturday)

What Do I Need To Bring?

Each hunter must bring a ‘hunter orange’ vest or cap, walking boots, shotgun and shells. We suggest using #6 shot for chukar and pheasant and a #7 or 8 shot for quail. Most of your shots will be over the gun dogs and at a fairly close range. Improved or modified choke works best. We also suggest bringing a cooler to transport your game home.

No larger than #6 shot is to be used

How Many Hunters Per Group?

Guides can take up to 4 customers per hunt. We can take multiple groups a day. Morning hunters need to arrive at 8:00 am. Afternoon hunters must arrive before noon. Lunch will be served to all groups at noon.

Hunters must be age 14 or older.

Is A Hunting License Required?

A Missouri Hunting License is required. If you are coming from out of state or do not have a Missouri hunting license, a Preserve Permit may be purchase on-site. For hunters born after 1-1-67, a Hunter Safety Card is required to purchase a permit.

Three-Day Permit $7

Season Permit $12

Can I use My Own Dogs?

You are more than welcome to hunt behind your own gun dogs. But you must remember we can not control your dog, which means you must accept responsibility for the outcome of the hunt. You may also hunt with your dogs for part of the hunt and then switch to to ours if you choose. Many clients like to bring their own dogs to train or ‘sharpen their skills’. This works great since you know you will find birds!

Do We Have To Have A Hunting Guide?

A hunting guide is required to assist your hunt. Our guides are experienced hunters and are simply there to assure you have a safe and successful hunt. We are sure you will enjoy the hospitality of our hunting guides.
